Mount Juliet Estate

The Interiors Group were appointed by Tetrarch to carry out the design and fit out of the Manor House bedrooms at Mount Juliet Estate in County Kilkenny.

The design concept of the Manor House bedrooms was to create an atmosphere that seamlessly blends the elegance of traditional Georgian style with the modern comforts and technologies that today’s travellers expect. The aim was to uphold the historical significance of the 500-acre estate while providing a luxurious and contemporary experience. This was encapsulated in the design, which emphasised sophistication, comfort, and functionality.

As one of the most prestigious 5-star hotels in Ireland, Tetrarch wanted their Georgian Manor to offer an unrivalled experience for their guests. Key features of the newly, enhanced bedrooms include:

Aesthetics – Each bedroom reflects the rich history of the 17th-century Manor House, combining classic Georgian architectural elements with modern design practices to maintain a cohesive look throughout. This included selecting colour palettes, luxurious materials, and furnishings that evoke a sense of grandeur.

Customisation – Incorporating bespoke furniture meant catering to the unique dimensions and aesthetics of each bedroom while ensuring functionality.

Technology Integration – Modern amenities such as additional phone charging points and appropriate lighting in the vanity area were necessary to meet the demands of contemporary travellers, ensuring that technological features harmonised with the traditional design.

Natural Light and Ambiance – Incorporating blackout window dressing was critical for guest comfort and ensuring the versatility of the rooms during the day and night. The design focused on maximizing natural light while allowing guests control over their environment.

Delivery of the Work:

The execution of the project involved a collaborative approach between The Interiors Group and the staff members of Mount Juliet.

The project began with extensive consultations with Tetrarch to gain an understanding of their vision and requirements. Based on this feedback, initial design concepts were generated and refined through Computer Generated Images and detailed drawing.

The design team sourced high-quality materials and worked closely with skilled joiners to create bespoke furniture.

The fit-out process was carefully planned to minimise disruption to the live hotel. Close attention was paid to timelines, quality control, and site management to ensure a smooth workflow.

Once the fit out was complete, the team conducted a thorough quality assessment of each room. Final touches, such as the placement of accessories and decorative elements that reflect the Manor House’s heritage, were added to bring the design to life.

Post-completion, feedback was gathered from Tetrarch and initial guests. This input was invaluable for assessing the success of the design and fit-out.

This project not only revitalised the Manor House bedrooms but also enhanced the overall guest experience, ensuring that Mount Juliet Estate remains a standout destination for luxury travel in Ireland.
